Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani will arrive in Pakistan on a two-day official visit on Saturday.
The Qatari head of state is visiting the country on the invitation of Prime Minister Imran Khan. According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office, a high-level delegation comprising key officials and ministers shall accompany the emir.
During his stay in Islamabad, the emir will hold talks with the premier and President Arif Alvi to “discuss ways and means of building a robust and mutually beneficial economic partnership”. Several MOUs, agreements “for enhanced bilateral cooperation in different areas” are expected to be signed between Islamabad and Doha.
In an Instagram post earlier this week, PM Imran stated that the Qatari emir will announce an investment of $22 billion for Pakistan spanning different sectors.
“This comes as a second major investment in the country after the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had announced to invest $21 billion in Pakistan in three phases under its investment plan,” the Instagram post read.
