Govt (re)announces 8th Interim Wage Board Award for newspaper employees

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting reported on Wednesday the eighth Interim Wage Award for paper workers with the interval help (increment in pay) extending somewhere in the range of Rs5,000 and 8,500 every month.

While the adhoc augmentation had before been declared by the board under the chairmanship of Justice (retd) Hasnat Ahmad Khan in Islamabad on April 10, the PM's counselor made the declaration once again for reasons best known to her.

It hears objections both on an individual and aggregate dimension with respect to the use of compensation board pay rates.

The accepted data priest conceded that the alleviation was insufficient whenever balanced with swelling rates but rather said that it mirrored the administration's responsibility and that it was acutely attentive for the goals of columnists' issues.

As per Awan, Special Grade/Category A/Grade I that incorporates editors and others, the break alleviation will be Rs8,500 every month. From Grade I-IV the alleviation will be Rs6,500 though for representatives falling between Grade V and Grade VIII the expansion will be Rs5,000.

Responding to the declaration, President Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists Afzal Butt said in spite of the fact that the help was insufficient, media proprietors should actualize the new honor.

"It's smarter to get something instead of nothing," he disclosed to The Express Tribune. "Paper proprietors should actualize it."

Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ) President Ashraf Khan named the advancement a "political proclamation" and a "convention" as it was at that point reported and advised before.
